Client Testimonials Trump All
Sometimes it can feel like pulling teeth, sometimes it can feel like self-promotion, but no matter which way you phrase it, encouraging happy clients to leave positive reviews about your business on review-based platforms is going to help improve your social proof, as well as increasing your chances of a potential client or customer checking out your services.
Statistics
A recent study from BrightLocal about consumer behavior brought a few statistics to light that might be a little shocking to those who don’t pay much attention to their online reviews:
Only 13% Of Consumers Will Consider Using A Business That Has A 1- Or 2‑Star Rating
This seems like a no-brainer, but nonetheless serves as an excellent reminder to always encourage clients you know are happy with your services to leave reviews online, and to stay in the know about how your company appears with online reviews.
80% Of Consumers Trust Online Reviews As Much As Personal Recommendations
As the title of this Tip of the Week hints, people will trust what a complete stranger says about your company versus you yourself.
69% Of Consumers Believe That Reviews Older Than 3 Months Are No Longer Relevant
Continue encouraging clients to leave reviews! Like content, keeping your reviews looking fresh is important to visitors.
To give you an example of a client-engaged testimonial, we asked a couple of our clients if they’d give us a testimonial, and they gladly agreed! We choose to create video testimonials to better convey how the clients we work with feel about us. The video format ensures that the testimonials received aren’t taken out of context or paraphrased – instead, they are candid.
Examples
Portland Museum of Art Testimonial
We work with the Portland Museum of Art when they need website updates, new functionality implemented on their site to tie in with their online collection, or technical support.
Meadowmere Resort Testimonial
The Meadowmere Resort works with our digital marketing team on a monthly basis to make sure their website is attracting and converting out-of-staters to vacation at their family resort in Ogunquit, Maine.
