We Launched Our Own New Website! And Carved Some Pumpkins

With so much time spent on our computers, time in nature is a welcome activity. Each month, iBec employees have the opportunity to step away from their desks and volunteer two hours of their time however they choose. This past month, the team worked with Cultivating Community, collecting seaweed and using it to mulch their raised garden beds, as well as general landscaping and moving stones.
Cultivating Community’s mission is to “grow sustainable communities by expanding access to healthy, local food; empowering children, youth, and adults to play diverse roles in restoring the local, sustainable food systems; and modeling, teaching, and advocating for ecological food production.”

A brand new iBec Creative website
As you may have noticed, we’re looking a little different these days. Due to ever-changing trends, functionality, and security measures, it’s best practice to update your website every five years. Being in the business of building websites for other companies, it can be hard to prioritize your own. While it may have taken some time for us to launch our very own new site, it was a great reminder of the importance of not forgetting to focus on yourself sometimes. Website launch: The Dump Guy
With four new websites launched this past month, iBec is now at 541 websites launched! Our highlight this month is on The Dump Guy, Maine and Coastal New Hampshire’s premier junk removal service. With their current CMS nearing the end of its life, it was time to migrate their website to a new platform. Using the opportunity to also spruce up some design elements, we made sure that the new site felt fresh while also maintaining successful design elements and functionality that served them well on their old site.

Vote for your favorite! iBec’s 13th annual pumpkin carving contest
Calling all jack o’ lantern fanatics! We need your help. Every Halloween our team gathers and puts their creative and knife-wielding skills to use. Left to our own devices there’s no saying what kind of tom-foolery or voting scandals could happen. That’s why year after year we call on you to vote! Head to the polls to see what we came up with and be sure to vote for your favorite.
B Corp initiative: Support local
Part of iBec’s mission as a company and responsibility as a B Corp is to help support our local community. While there are many ways we strive to do this through volunteer efforts, working with local Maine clients, and committing to green living (to name a few), this past month we purchased a membership with the Portland Museum of Art. Not only is this a great way to support a local nonprofit but now iBec employees are able to visit the museum anytime with no out-of-pocket cost. It’s a win-win!
