The debut of our collaborative community art piece
The April 2024 Newsletter -
This past March, iBec hosted our second annual Collaborative Art Night! It’s always such a blast getting members of the community in our doors and a paintbrush in their hands. This year we collaborated on a piece in support of climate action, a cause that is integral to our commitment to act locally for a healthy global environment. Here’s what the canvas looked like at the start of the night:
We were proud to highlight Maine Climate Action NOW! (MCAN), a local nonprofit that catalyzes transformative education and action in response to the climate and ecological emergency. To see all the amazing things their organization is doing or to get involved yourself, head to their website!
And now for the big reveal! Here’s the final product:
Thank you to everyone who came out, contributed, and supported the environment. We look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with next year!
Celebrating Maine’s LGBTQ+ community
iBec offers each employee two hours of compensated volunteer time each month. Whether it’s donating blood, helping to rebuild public trails, or picking up trash at the beach, every little bit counts. This past March, several iBec employees used their donation hours to support EqualityMaine, the oldest and largest statewide organization dedicated to creating a fair and just society for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer Mainers.
Here’s a brief glimpse of Kes and Rayna at EqualityMaine’s event, The Celestial Soirée!
The Celestial Soirée was EqualityMaine’s 39th annual awards celebration, organized to recognize and celebrate the shining stars of Maine’s LGBTQ+ community.
To learn more about EqualityMaine, see upcoming events, or donate to the cause, visit their website. You can also check out their Instagram for more shots of the event!
